We had earlier reported that Samantha Akkineni will soon be making her digital debut with the second season of Indian fictional spy action drama web series, The Family Man. Now, we hear that Devadarshini, known for her roles in Marmadesam and the Kanchana series, has been roped in to play an important role in the web series, alongside Samantha.

Created by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, the first season charts the story of a middle-class man secretly working for the TASC branch of National Investigation Agency (NIA).

"Samantha was thrilled to play a negative role offered by Raj and DK and thought it is a character that’s quite interesting and right up her ally. She is yet to sign the dotted line and the formalities are expected to be completed soon,” informs a source.

Starring Manoj Bajpayee, Priyamani and Sundeep Kishan, the 10-episode first season was premiered on Amazon Prime Video on September 20, 2019. The makers have already completed with half of the shoot for season 2 and will wrap up the second half in May 2020.

Meanwhile, Samantha will next be seen in the Telugu remake of Tamil love film 96. The film’s shooting has been wrapped up and the makers are planning to release it sometime in December.
