Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), a traders organisation, has called for a ban on the controversial Hindi reality TV show Bigg Boss, which is currently in its 13th season. According to reports, the organisation has sent a letter to Prakash Javadekar, the Information and Broadcasting Minister, seeking a ban on the show for its vulgar and obscene content. 

A recent concept in the show, Bed Friend Forever, has been the cause for the reaction from CAIT. The organisation has said that the show is tarnishing the cultural and traditional values of the country in ‘a lust for TRP’.

Meanwhile, social media is also flooded with posts asking for a ban on the show. In additon to that, a hashtag #BanBiggBoss is trending on Twitter. 

The reality show has ran into many such controversies earlier. Bigg Boss Tamil, the Tamil version of the show, which completed its third season, also faced similar protests from Hindu Makkal Katchi back in 2017. 

Actor-politician Kamal Haasan hosted the three seasons of the Tamil show. Malaysian singer Mugen Rao was declared the winner of the recent season. Dance choreographer Sandy was voted as the runner-up of the popular show.
