Swedish actor Alexander Skarsgard has joined the Ruth Negga and Tessa Thompson-starrer Passing. However, the details of Skarsgard’s character are still under wraps.

Passing will mark the directorial debut of actor Rebecca Hall, who is adapting Nella Larsen's Harlem Renaissance novella of the same name. Also featuring Andre Holland, the shooting for the film is currently happening in New York.

The film tells the tale of two African-American women in 1928 Harlem, who can ‘pass’ as white, but make opposite choices.

Skasgard, who won an Emmy and an Golden Globe award in 2017 for his role on Big Little Lies, is currently part of Showtime’s On Becoming A God In Central Florida and in A24’s The Kill Team. He also recently completed shooting for Godzilla vs. Kong.
