In a recent event in Puducherry, producer Ishari Ganesh, who contested in the recent Nadigar Sangam election for the Secretary post, has said that there is a chance for re-election.

The producer was quoted as saying, “Our problem with the recent election is that it was not conducted based on the association’s bylaws. There was no influence from my part in the appointment of the special officer. There is a chance for re-election.”

Nadigar Sangam election for new office bearers was conducted in June, and the vote counting has been put on hold by the Madras High Court as many members filed complaints against the contesting Pandavar Ani. About 61 members have claimed that they were not allowed to vote as the Nasser-led faction wanted to skew the election in their favour.

Meanwhile, a special officer was appointed by the Tamil Nadu government to oversee the proceedings of the association much to the disappointment of Nasser-led faction, who called it ‘murder of democracy’.
