We had previously speculated that Gouri Kishen, who shot to fame with her role in 96, will be a part of Vijay's upcoming film that is tentatively titled Thalapathy 64. The young actor took to social media to confirm her presence, and said, "It’s official. To everyone who has been asking me if it’s true, yes. I am more than excited to be a part of director Lokesh Kanagaraj‘s next, Thalapathy 64, alongside the stellar cast. Need your blessings and prayers."

She has joined the film's second schedule, which is happening at a brisk pace in Delhi. The actor joins an extensive cast that consists of Vijay Sethupathi, Malavika Mohanan, Shantanu Bhagyaraj, Andrea Jeremiah, Antony Varghese, Chetan, Sanjeev, Srinath and Premkumar. 

With music by Anirudh Ravichander and cinematography by Sathyan Sooriyan, the film is bankrolled by XB Film Creators.
