Midway's makers have pulled off the herculean task of making a World War II film without the support of any studio. At the premiere of the film in Westwood’s Regency Village Theatre, Los Angeles, the director of the film, Roland Emmerich, revealed that he cut down his salary by a huge margin for making the film.

However, the director refused to reveal how much of his salary was cut down for making the movie. Roland only admitted that it was a huge amount.

Midway, which follows the story of American soldiers during the Pearl Harbour attack, was made on a budget of $100 million.

The Independence Day-director said that Midway was about camaraderie, friendship, and ‘how to be a leader of man’.

The film stars Ed Skrein, Mandy Moore, Aaron Eckhart, Darren Criss, Nick Jonas, Luke Evans, Patrick Wilson, Dennis Quaid, and Woody Harrelson.
