The shooting of Vishal's Thupparivaalan 2 commences today in Bristol, England. We had earlier told you that Lovely Singh will be playing the female lead in the film. It has come to notice that the debutante has been rechristened as Ashya. 

Thupparivaalan, co-starring Prasanna, Vinay, Andrea and Anu Emmanuel was released in 2017. Just like the original, the sequel is also being bankrolled by Vishal Film Factory. Prasanna and Vishal will be reprising their roles as Manohar and Kanniyan Poongundran in the sequel and senior actors like Rahman and Gauthami are also expected to be part of the project. 

The makers are planning to wrap the first schedule within forty days in Bristol. Thupparivaalan 2 has cinematography by Nirav Shah and music by Ilaiyaraaja. 

The film is expected to have a Telugu dubbed version titled Detective 2.
