Channing Tatum is set to star in and produce a romantic drama, titled Soundtrack of Silence. He is set to bankroll the film under his banner Free Association along with Paramount Pictures, and Temple Hill.

Written by Jamie Linden, who also penned the script for Tatum's Dear John (2010), the film is based on the "KQED story about Matt Hay, a sophomore in college who is losing his hearing and wants to capture the sounds that are slipping away, including the songs and soundtrack of his youth. That has the young man listening to music with a new appreciation as he develops a silent soundtrack in his head and deeper love for his girlfriend."

The makers are yet to rope in a director for the Soundtrack of Silence, and details of the rest of the cast and crew is expected to be announced soon.

Meanwhile, Tatum is also part of Shawn Levy's upcoming sci-fi comedy, Free Guy, which stars Ryan Reynolds, Taika Waititi and Jodie Comer
