Superstar Rajinikanth to collaborate with director Siva next?

CE Features

With the first schedule of Rajinikanth's Darbar wrapped up in Mumbai, director Siva, who last helmed Ajith Kumar's hugely successful drama, Viswasam, has reportedly met the Superstar at his Poes Garden residence in Chennai for a script-narration session. We hear that the director narrated an action-oriented family entertainer to Rajinikanth, which the latter apparently liked.

According to sources, Lyca Productions will be bankrolling the project, if and when this combination materialises. The film is tentatively being referred to as Thalaivar 168.

Siva, meanwhile, has been signed to direct Suriya in a film — Suriya 39 — to be produced by KE Gnanavel Raja's Studio Green.

Rajinikanth, on the other hand, is expected to join the second schedule of AR Murugadoss's cop drama, Darbar, in a few days. Nayanthara, who had previously worked with Rajini in Chandramukhi and Kuselan, plays the female lead in this film, which also features several Bollywood actors, including Dalip Tahil, Pradeep Kabra, Prateik Babbar, and Jatin Sarna, in important roles. Apart from these actors, Nivetha Thomas, John Mahendran and Yogi Babu are also a part of Darbar. Also produced by Lyca Productions, the film is slated for release on January 9, 2020.
