Following the exit of Raghava Lawrence, writer Farhad Samji will take over the directorial responsibilities of the Akshay Kumar-starrer, Laxmmi Bomb. It is to be noted that Farhad had written the film, an adaptation of the Tamil horror comedy, Kanchana, directed by Lawrence.

Earlier this month, Lawrence called it quits after the makers apparently unveiled the film's first look without his knowledge. The actor-director also wrote an emotional note on Twitter, saying he felt "insulted" and "disappointed." He further went on to add that the makers are free to find a substitution for him.

An official announcement from the makers regarding the replacement is expected soon.

Laxmmi Bomb, which has Akshay playing a scaredy-cat, who gets possessed by a ghost of a wronged transgender person, is slated for release on June 5, 2020. Kiara Advani plays the female lead.
