CE Features

Makarand Deshpande will play the main antagonist in Mahesh Bhatt’s Sadak 2. The veteran actor will be portraying a fake godman who runs an ashram, reports suggest. A sequel of the 1991 hit, Sadak (also directed by Mahesh Bhatt), the new film stars Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur, alongside Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt.

In the first film, late actor Sadashiv Amrapurkar had played the antagonist, a brothel owner named Maharani, for which role he won a National Award.

Besides Makarand, Gulshan Grover will also be seen in Sadak 2 in a negative role. The sequel is written by Shagufta Rafique and produced by Vishesh Films. Expected to go on floors later this month, the film is scheduled for release on March 25, 2020.

Mahesh Bhatt’s last directorial venture was Kartoos, released in 1999.
