Vijay is currently shooting for the final schedule of Atlee's yet-to-be-titled sports film (Thalapathy 63) in an expensive football stadium set, which has been constructed on the outskirts of Chennai. The actor, who plays a football coach for an all-women team in that film, has reportedly met Maanagaram-fame Lokesh Kanagaraj for a script reading session. The Sarkar actor, apparently impressed with the young director's narration, is said to have given the initial go ahead.

With names of directors like Mohan Raja, Shankar, and even Atlee, already doing the rounds for Vijay's subsequent projects, this development has given rise to speculations that Lokesh might be directing the actor's next, tentatively referred to as Thalapathy 64. However, an official announcement is awaited.

Lokesh Kanagaraj, meanwhile, has wrapped up the shoot for his next project, Kaithi, a prison-break drama with Karthi in the lead. Interestingly, the action thriller, which is said to portray events happening over four hours, does not have a heroine.
