TP Kailasam’s Tollu Gatti to be adapted for the big screen

CE Features

Gurudatt Sreekanth’s debut directorial Mookavismitha is based on famous playwright TP Kailasam’s stage play Tollu Gatti, which was staged in the 1950s. The film that travels between 1950 and 2019, will see Sandeep Malani playing Hiriyanna, an egoistic and strict Havyak Brahmin. “This is a mystical suspense family entertainer that comes with a strong message. It is for all age groups,” says the actor and director.

“Based on the same characters—Bhagya, Puttu, Madhu, Sathu and Pathu—seen in the play, the film mostly has newcomers with a theatre background,” says Sandeep. The cast includes artistes Pushpa Raghavendra, Krupa Prahalad, Shubha Raksha, Vanishree Bhat, Chandra Keerthi and Mavalli Karthik playing important roles.
