Mark Wahlberg and Jason Isaacs join animated Scooby-Doo film

CE Features

Mark Wahlberg and Jason Isaacs have joined the voice cast of the animated Scooby-Doo film, Scoob, produced by Warner Bros.

Wahlberg will play the Blue Falcon, a superhero from the Hanna-Barbera canon who teamed with Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Gang to fight against one of his arch-enemies, Mr. Hyde. Blue Falcon’s right hand was Dynomutt, who in the feature animated pic is being voiced by Ken Jeong.

Isaacs will portray twirling mustache villain Dick Dastardly, who is reported to be the main baddie in Scoob. Dick is a duplicitous car racer and pilot whose vehicles are known to carry various bombs and traps.

The two actors join the already announced voice cast of Zac Efron (Fred), Amanda Seyfried (Daphne), Gina Rodriguez (Velma), Will Forte (Shaggy), Tracy Morgan (Captain Caveman), Frank Welker (Scooby-Doo) and Kiersey Clemons (Dee Dee Skyes).

The project brings the mysterious hijinks of four teens and their talking Great Dane, Scooby-Doo, to the big screen for the first time since 2004's live-action Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed. Written by Kelly Freemon Craig and Matt Lieberman, Scoob sees the Mystery Inc. gang join forces with other heroes of the Hanna-Barbera universe to save the world from Dick Dastardly and his evil plans.
