For the first time, Kannada filmmakers are contemplating doing a remake of a film, which was recently dubbed and released in the state. Ajith’s recent film, Viswasam, which was dubbed in Kannada as Jaga Malla, is all set to get a remake in the language, with Shivarajkumar reprising the role played by Ajith’s shoes. Like the original, the remake will be made under Sathya Jyothi Films.

Confirming that this matter is under discussion, Shivanna says, “Yes, I am in talks with the producer about a remake of Viswasam in Kannada. But nothing is finalised yet. I am yet to confirm.”

The original version was directed by Siva, and the dubbed version was released by Horizon Studios in Karnataka. It remains unclear who will be helming the remake starring Shivarajkumar in Kannada.

The 'Century Star', who has completed shooting for the Ravi Varma-directorial Rustum, and for Drona, helmed by Pramod Chakravarthy, is currently busy with P Vasu’s film, tentatively titled Anand. In addition, Shivanna also has My Name is Anji, a film directed by Harsha and made under Jayanna Production, as well as SRK directed by Lucky Gopal in the offing.
