Following the launch, the statue was taken back to Singapore and a select group of fans got an opportunity to click selfies with it till the evening. This is the first time that Madame Tussauds has organised an event outside their studio.

Mahesh thanked Madame Tussauds for coming down to Hyderabad. “My hectic work schedule did not allow me to travel to Singapore. I thank Madame Tussauds for making this special event happen in Hyderabad in the presence of my children.”

Dressed in a black suit, the statue had the hand-to-chin signature pose of the actor. An ecstatic Mahesh clicked a selfie with the statue and said, “I’m really honoured and thrilled to get a wax statue of my character from Srimanthudu.”

On the professional front, Mahesh will next be seen in Maharshi, directed by Vamshi Paidipally. The film, also starring Pooja Hegde, is slated for release on May 9.
