The Tamil remake of Pink, starring Ajith and Shraddha Srinath, titled Nerkonda Paarvai, is set to hit the screens on August 10. The news was officially announced by Boney Kapoor, who is bankrolling it as his first-ever Tamil production, under his Bayview Projects LLP banner. 

Directed by Theeran-fame H Vinoth, Nerkonda Paarvai has Ajith reprising the role played by Amitabh Bachchan in the original. Shraddha takes on the role made memorable by Taapsee Pannu in Pink. 

Nerkonda Paarvai also stars Vidya Balan, Adhik Ravichandran, Arjun Chidambaram, Abhirami Venkatachalam, Andrea Tariang, Aswin Rao, and Sujith Shankar. This film will mark Vidya’s debut in Tamil. With music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, and cinematography by Nirav Shah, the film's shooting is currently underway and is expected to continue non-stop till mid-April. 

While the film was first speculated to get a release on May 1, this news has also put an end to rumours that it might be released in June or July. Ajith will follow up Nerkonda Paarvai with another Boney Kapoor production, which is touted to be an 'out-and-out commercial entertainer'.
