After Pazhassi Raja, director Hariharan is reportedly planning a biopic on Kunjan Nambiar. The screenplay is being penned by noted lyricist and former Malayalam University vice-chancellor, K Jayakumar.

Though no casting announcements have been made yet, the film is expected to be another big-budget venture like Pazhassi Raja or Oru Vadakkan Veeragadha, and will most likely go into production within this year.

A legendary poet and satirist, Kunjan Nambiar was also known for inventing the dance form Ottamthullal. There had been some attempts to make a film on Kunjan Nambiar before. At one point, the late Bharathan had envisioned a biopic with Jayaram in the lead.
