Following the Pulwama terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir on February 14, Notebook director Nitin Kakkar had announced that the song Main Taare, which was earlier crooned by Pakistani singer Atif Aslam, will be re-recorded. It was also predicted that either producer Salman Khan or a new singer will be singing the track.

On Saturday, a 25-second teaser of Main Taare was released online featuring Salman Khan in a black leather jacket and a matching Being Human t-shirt. The 53-old-year actor, whose singing discography includes Main Hoon Hero Tera, Jag Ghoomeya, Hangover and others, has crooned the new version of Main Taare for Notebook. The romantic number has been composed by Vishal Mishra and penned by Manoj Muntashir.

This is one of the most significant points in the film and that’s why the song is so important,” Nitin said. “Salman sir has added several more layers to the composition,” Vishal added.

Notebook marks the debut of newcomers Zaheer Iqbal and Pranutan Bahl. The Kashmir-set film is produced by Salman Khan Films and Murad Khetani and is scheduled to release on March 29.
