Shanvi Srivastava turns Army Officer for Ranangana 

Rohit Rao will be making his directorial debut through the film

Rohit Rao, who is making his directorial debut with Ranangana has managed to rope in Shanvi Srivastava to play the lead role. With a title which translates to 'battlefield', the film will feature her playing the role of an army officer. 

It may be noted that Rohit is the brother of director Mahesh Rao, who directed Yash's  Santhu Straight Forward. Rohit has previously assisted directors like TS Nagarabharana and P Vasu. He says the film is inspired by real-life events, " Shanvi, plays the character of a journalist, who later decides to join the Indian Army."

Shanvi says that she gave the nod to the project majorly because it is based on the Indian Army. "The bravery and valour of the Indian Army have been echoing all over the nation in the past few months. When I was offered the film which talks in depth about the Army, I strongly felt that I have to take it up.  I'm yet to hear the complete narration of the script."

Skanda Ashok, of Radha Ramana fame, plays the male lead in the film. Apart from the leads, the cast also includes actors like Suman Nagarkar, Manja Talkies-fame Pavan Kumar, Ranjith and Raghu. 

 Produced by Hemanth Suvavarna, the film has dialogues by Masti, and cinematography by Karthik Mallur.
