Kanaa gets a Telugu remake

Aishwarya Rajessh who played the lead in last year's hit film Kanaa, will reprise her role in the Telugu remake as well. Titled Kowsalya Krishnamurthy… Cricketer, the film will have the Kaakka Muttai actor essay the titular role of a cricketing enthusiast that found much favour in Tamil. While the original film was directed by Arunraja Kamaraja and produced by Sivakarthikeyan, the Telugu remake will be directed by Bhimaneni Sreenivas Rao and produced by KS Ramarao. 

Apart from Aishwarya, the remake will have Rajendra Prasad, Vennela Kishore, Jhansi, Shashank, Rangasthalam Mahesh in important roles. The dialogues of the film are written by KGF: Chapter 1-fame Hanuman Chowdary. The music will be composed by Dhibu Ninan Thomas, who had also scored for the Tamil version. The project went on floors recently. 

Aishwarya also has a project with Vijay Deverakonda in Telugu, which is touted to be her debut in the language. The actor will also be essaying a wrestler in her second Telugu film, which hasn’t been titled yet.
