Mera Naam Shaji to be released by March end

Nadirshah’s Mera Naam Shaji will be hitting theatres in the final week of March

CE Features

Telling a story of three men with the first name ‘Shaji’, the film Mera Naam Shaji will have: Biju Menon as Shaji Usman from Kozhikode; Asif Ali as Shaji George from Kochi; and Baiju Santosh as Shaji Sukumaran from Thiruvananthapuram.

Though Nadirshah’s previous two directorials — Amar Akbar Antony, Kattappanayile Ritwik Roshan — told the story of a group of friends, Mera Naam Shaji will revolve around three complete strangers who will represent the film’s three different genres — love, action, and comedy.

Nikhila Vimal, Mythili, and Surabhi are playing the female leads. Dharmajan will be appearing in the role of Asif’s friend while Ganesh Kumar and Sadiq will be seen as a couple of politicians. Aside from them, Sreenivasan, Tini Tom, and Renjini Haridas are also among the supporting cast members.

Dilip Ponnan and Shaani Khader have penned the story which has Singapore, Kozhikode, Ernakulam, and Thiruvananthapuram as locations. B Rakesh is producing the film under the banner of Universal Cinemas.
