Mohanlal's Ittimaani: Made in China to begin shooting this month

As per reports, Mohanlal’s upcoming Ittimaani: Made in China, will go on floors by the end of this month. Written and directed by newcomers Jiby and Joju, the film is being backed by Aashirvad Cinemas. 

Honey Rose has reportedly been cast as the female lead. She had previously worked with Mohanlal in the Padmakumar directorial Kanal (2015). Radhika Sarathkumar, who previously collaborated with Mohanlal 34 years ago in the film Koodum Thedi, will be appearing in a powerful role. She was last seen in the Dileep-starrer Ramaleela. 

Dharmajan Bolgatty and Hareesh Kanaran are also said to be part of the cast. Shaji Kumar, who shot Pulimurugan and Odiyan, has been roped in as the cinematographer. The film has been planned to be shot in Singapore, Thrissur, and Ernakulam. After the Singapore schedule, which will last five days, the crew will be moving to Thrissur by the end of April.

Meanwhile, Mohanlal is currently busy with the filming of Priyadarshan’s big-budget period epic Marakkar: Arabikkadalinte Simham. He is expected to start working soon in director Siddique’s Big Brother and the recently announced Vinayan directorial once he is done with Marakkar. 

In addition to Prithviraj’s directorial debut Lucifer, which comes out on March 28, Mohanlal will be seen next in the Suriya-starrer Kaappaan, directed by KV Anand. The former is a political thriller in which Mohanlal will be sharing screen space with Manju Warrier, Vivek Oberoi, Tovino Thomas, and Indrajith Sukumaran, among others. Murali Gopy has penned the script.
