Actor Mahesh Babu's much-awaited film Maharshi has been in the news ever since its inception. The film's posters showing the actor in two different avatars -- as a college goer and a businessman also managed to create the right amount of buzz for the film.

However, the action entertainer has been postponed again and the reason being cited is the delay in post-production works. This has come as a surprise for Mahesh Babu's fans who were waiting for the film eagerly to be released on April 25. "While the shooting will be completed in time, we do not want to compromise on the quality of the film just to meet the release date. So, we have decided to push the film by two weeks and release it on May 9, which is also an auspicious date for our co-producer Ashwini Dutt, whose blockbuster films Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari and Mahanati released on the same date,” said Dil Raju, the co-producer of the film.

Directed by Vamshi Paidiapally, Maharshi also features Pooja Hegde, Allari Naresh, Prakash Raj and Jayasudha in pivotal roles. The film has music by Devi Sri Prasad.
