Vadivelu is back as Pei Mama

CE Features

While Vadivelu was supposed to return to playing the lead with Imsai Arasan 24th Pulikecei, the sequel to his 2006 comedy film, it's now confirmed that the actor will also be doing a film with director Shakthi Chidambaram. Titled Pei Mama, the film is touted to be a horror comedy.

An image featuring Vadivelu was making the rounds on social media yesterday. However, a source close to the unit has confirmed that it is not the film's first look. Elaborating more on the project, the source says, "The title of the film is confirmed, and Vadivelu is playing the lead. But the image that's getting circulated online is not an official poster from the team. It's an image that was made for representational purposes, which has been leaked. The film is expected to go on floors soon."

Incidentally, the image is a retouched version of the comedian from the 2011 Prashanth-starrer Mambattiyan. Vadivelu and Shakthi Chidambaram had previously collaborated on films such as Ennamma Kannu, Kadhal Kirukkan, Englishkaaran and Vyaabaari.
