The Tamil version of The Lion King has yet another interesting addition to its cast. Earlier, we had reported that Madhan Karky is in charge of the dialogues, while Siddharth provides the voice for Simba. Reports now confirm that Arvind Swami has voiced the villain, Scar. Interestingly, the actor had dubbed for the lead, Simba, in the Tamil version over 20 years ago, when the animated version was released on television for Indian audiences.

"It was a great learning experience dubbing for Simba in The Lion King, an animated film, over 20 years ago. When I was approached this time around for the new version of The Lion King, I preferred to dub for Scar as I saw the character as the most interesting and multidimensional. It was an enriching professional experience," says Arvind Swami.

Directed by Iron Man-fame Jon Favreau, the film is a retelling of one of the most sought after stories from Disney. Shah Rukh Khan and his son Aryan are voicing the characters Mufasa and Simba, respectively, in Hindi. The film is scheduled for release on July 19.
