Josh Gad puts rumors to rest about playing Penguin in Batman

The actor took to Twitter to announce that he is not taking up the role

After months of speculation, Josh God has finally put rumours to rest about his involvement in the new Batman film.

With The Batman set for production in early 2020, the official casting for the film has started to take place. After months of teasing fans about his involvement in the film, the actor, for the first time, took to social media to make it clear that he is not The Batman's Penguin.

Matt Reeves was announced as the director of the film in 2017. Robert Pattinson was cast as the new Batman. Several villains are rumored to appear in the film, but as of right now, it's believed that Oswald Cobblepot (the Penguin) and Selina Kyle (Catwoman) will be the main villains of the film.

The film is expected to begin shooting by the end of this year.  Vanessa Hudgens has expressed her desire to play Catwoman and Dave Bautista wants to play Banebut no actors have been confirmed as of yet for roles besides Pattinson. As for the plot of the movie, all that is known is that The Batman will not be an origin story, but the character won't be as experienced as Affleck's Batman was.
