Sanjjanaa Galrani and Anurag Kashyap on board for Boxer

The film will mark the Tamil debut of Sanjjanaa who will also be playing a boxer

We had earlier reported that Arun Vijay, who is currently shooting for director Naveen's Agni Siragugal alongside Vijay Antony, will be playing a professional boxer in a sports drama titled Boxer, to be directed by debutant director Vivek. It is now known that the film will also star Sanjjanaa Galrani and Anurag Kashyap.

Boxer will mark the Tamil debut of Sanjjanaa who will also be playing a boxer in the film. A statement from the actor said that she will be featured in a never-seen-before avatar in the film. Anurag Kashyap, who debuted in Tamil cinema with last year's Imaikkaa Nodigal, is also said to be playing an important role in Boxer

Ritika Singh, who rose to fame with her portrayal of a boxer in the 2016 film Irudhi Suttru, will be playing a boxer-turned-sports journalist in the film, which is said to have realistic fight sequences. Arun Vijay had earlier flown to Vietnam to train for the role at Lien Phong Training Center alongside Johnny Tri-Nguyen, who played the villain in Suriya’s 7aum Arivu.

Boxer will have music by Leon James and cinematography by Markus A Lujungbern.
