Debutant director Prakyath Gowda’s War and Peace, set in the backdrop of boxing and martial arts, has businessman-turned-actor Chirantha playing the lead role of a struggling boxer. Having completed the first schedule, the team, which is keen  to have Jagapati Babu, has approached the south Indian actor for an important role. 

“The production is in touch with Jagapati Babu, who perfectly fits the role of a coach. We hope to have him on board,” says Prakyath. Meanwhile, Jagapati Babu is currently shooting for Darshan-starrer Roberrt, directed by Tharun Kishore Sudhir. 

About his lead actor, newcomer Chirantha, Prakyath says, “He has been trained in martial arts. In my film, he plays a big fan of Muhammad Ali. How his idol inspires him in his life is the theme of War and Peace.”

Produced by Santhosh Kumar J, War and Peace features Rani Warad and Anagha as the female leads. Gummeneni Vijay, who has previously worked with music director Arjun Janya, is the film's composer, while this project also marks the debut of cinematographer Karthik J Kiran.
