Sonakshi Sinha’s upcoming film has been titled Khandaani Shafakhana. Co-starring Varun Sharma and rapper Badshah, the slice-of-life comedy is scheduled to release on July 26. The title translates to ‘family hospital’ in English.

Set in Hoshiarpur in Punjab, the story features Sonakshi as a happy-go-lucky girl who will do anything for her family. The film is directed by Shilpi Dasgupta and written by Gautam Mehra.

“I am extremely happy to be part of this film which is so close to the world around us, to step into the shoes of a small town girl, and face the hilarious, madcap challenges thrown at her. Full of flavour, fun and emotions; I am so looking forward to begin this journey," Sonakshi had stated earlier.

Khandaani Shafakhana also stars Annu Kapoor, Kulbhushan Kharbanda and Nadira Babbar. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Mrighdeep Singh Lamba. Sonakshi Sinha’s last appearance was in Kalank and Total Dhamaal. She is a part of Salman Khan’s upcoming release Dabangg 3.
