Rohit Shetty and Salman Khan have jointly advanced the release date of Sooryavanshi to March 27 2020, thereby averting a clash with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Inshallah. Starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, Sooryavanshi was earlier announced to get a release on Eid next year. However, ever since the release date of Inshallah — starring Salman and Alia Bhatt — was announced as EID 2020, fans have been anticipating a box-office clash between the two.

On Wednesday, Salman took to social media to announce the new release date of Sooryavanshi as March 27. Sharing a picture with Rohit, he wrote,

Inshallah is a May-December romance, starring Alia as a film actor, and Salman as a businessman. Salman and Bhansali are reuniting for the first time in 12 years after Salman played a cameo in Saawariya.

Sooryavanshi is the fourth installment in Rohit’s ongoing cop franchise, in which Akshay Kumar plays the role of ATS chief Veer Sooryavanshi. Badhaai Ho actor, Neena Gupta, has joined the cast as Akshay’s mother.
