Sivaji Ganesan to be part of Class 12 textbooks

CE Features

In a move to honour the late veteran actor Sivaji Ganesan, excerpts about him have been added to Class 12 textbooks by the Tamil Nadu Government. Important details from the actor's life have been taken from Malayalam writer Balachandran Kallikaadu's book Chidambara Ninaivugal, which recounts the writer's experience interacting with the actor.

The excerpts to be included will mention popular films of Sivaji's such as Veerapandiya Kattabomman and Kappalotiya Tamizhan apart from Marlon Brando's comment about the late actor. The Hollywood actor had praised Sivaji's talent by saying that while the latter could emulate him, he can never do the same.

With more than 200 films in his repertoire, Sivaji was one of the defining actors in the history of Tamil cinema. The actor passed away in 2001.
