Balaji Mohan's first feature production, Mandela, starring Yogi Babu, goes on floors

Director Balaji Mohan recently launched his own production house called Open Window, and its first feature film, Mandela, will be co-produced by Y Not Studios and Reliance Entertainment.

Mandela, featuring Yogi Babu in the lead, will be directed by Madonne Ashwin, who recently won the National award for his short film, Dharmam. The first look poster of the film, featuring the outline of Yogi Babu's hair, along with a pair of scissors, a comb and a shaving razor beneath it, has been released on social media.

Going by the first look, it seems like Yogi Babu will be playing a barber/hair-dresser in Mandela. And so, the title appears to be a play on the Tamil word, manda (head), making it phonetically similar to mandaila, meaning 'on the head'.

The film, with music by Barath Shankar and cinematography by Vidhu Ayyana, goes on floors today.
