Speculations are rife that Vijay Sethupathi will be playing veteran bowler Muttiah Muralitharan in an upcoming biopic, titled 800. 

Several sources state that the shooting of the film will begin in December, and that it will be a big-budget project shot across India, England, Sri Lanka and a few other countries.

It may be noted that several cricket based films have been made in recent times, including the biopics of Dhoni and Sachin, made in 2016 and 2017, repsectively, and the upcoming film, 83, featuring Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev. 

Meanwhile, Vijay Sethupathi, who was recently seen in the Malayalam film Marconi Mathai, is presently working on several projects like Sanga Thamizhan, Laabam, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, and Maamanithan.
