Speculations about Vijay's next with director Atlee, Bigil have been doing rounds ever since the first look of the film was released a few weeks back. The sports drama, produced by AGS Entertainment, is said to feature Vijay in dual roles as father and son.

Now, we hear that Atlee has exceeded the budget that was sanctioned for the film by a huge margin. While the initial estimate for Bigil was said to be 90 crores, the budget was then expanded to 140 crores, midway through the shoot. With the final leg of the shoot yet to be completed, it's being said that Bigil's budget is bound to overtake the budgets of Enthiran and Baahubali - The Beginning, thereby making it Vijay's costliest film ever.

Nayanthara plays the female lead in Bigil, which also features actors like Amirtha Aiyer, Reba Monica John, and Indhuja Ravichandran as footballers, whose team will be coached by Vijay's character.

Bigil, bankrolled by AGS Entertainment and with music by AR Rahman, will hit the screens this Diwali.
