Jiivi goes to Bollywood

CE Features

With actor Vetri’s second film Jiivi, which was released on 28 June, opening to widespread critical and commercial acclaim, remake offers from Bollywood have started to pour in. Vetri revealed the news while thanking the press for the film's success.

Jiivi is written by Babu Tamizh, directed by debutant Gopinath, and produced by the Vetrivel Saravana Cinemas. The film follows an intelligent man, who decides to steal from his landlady's house, after being frustrated at his failed romance. Even as he comes up with clever ways to outsmart the cops, he realises that his actions are echoes from the past.

Along with Vetri, veteran actor Rohini is also being praised for her performance as the landlady. Vetri had debuted with blockbuster film 8 Thottakkal, where he played an honest cop.

Both 8 Thottakkal and Jiivi were produced by Vetri’s father. The actor has reportedly signed two more films, outside of his home banner.
