We had recently reported that Vishnu Vishal and Karunakaran will be reprising their roles from the original in the Indru Netru Naalai sequel, produced by CV Kumar’s Thirukumaran Entertainment. Several speculations stated that Priya Bhavani Shankar, who was last seen in Monster, has been brought on board to play the female lead in the new project as she had retweeted Vishnu Vishal's tweet about the film.

However, contrary to the reports, the actor has denied being a part of the project. When we reached out to her, she said, "I shared the poster of the sequel only as a friendly gesture. I am not part of the crew."

The 2015 original was about a time machine from the future that falls in the hands of two men, who have to go back into the past so they can remain who they are, in the present.

Meanwhile, Priya Bhavani Shankar has Atharvaa’s Kuruthi Aattam, Arun Vijay's Mafia, Dulquer Salmaan's Vaan, and a multi-starrer featuring Jiiva and Arulnithi in different stages of production. She is also working on a web series for Amazon with Bharath.

Vishnu Vishal, on the other hand, has Prabhu Solomon's Haathi Mera SaathiJagajala Killadi directed by Ezhil, and an untitled film with Vikranth, in the pipeline.
