We recently reported that Gayathrie, who was last seen in Amazon Prime's first Tamil web series, Vella Raja, has been roped in as the female lead for Seenu Ramasamy's upcoming film with Vijay Sethupathi, titled Maamanithan. 

Now, the latest news is that Anikha Surendran, who was recently seen as Ajith's daughter in Viswasam, will be seen playing a pivotal role in the film. Rumours suggest that the actor will be portraying Vijay Sethupathi's daughter. 

Maamanithan, which went on floors in December, will be incidentally Vijay Sethupathi's fourth collaboration with director Seenu Ramasamy after Thenmerku Paruvakaatru, Dharma Durai, and the unreleased Idam Porul Yaeval. Guru Somasundaram and Shaji Kailash are also part of the cast. 

The film, which is the second production venture of Yuvan Shankar Raja, will mark the first time the music director and his father, Ilaiyaraaja, collaborate on the music of a film.
