Director P Sunil Kumar Reddy, widely credited for making realistic films, has announced a biopic on revolutionary freedom fighter, Alluri Seetarama Raju. Titled Seetaramaraju -- A True Warrior, the film produced under Risali Film Academy and Studio banner will go on floors in March and is slated for release in August.

"The life of Alluri Seetarama Raju provides inspiration to youngsters. We will shoot the film Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Rajahmundry and in the agency area from March onwards. Besides the circumstances that lead to the rebellion, we are also making efforts to show the mystery surrounding the death of Alluri through this film. The cast and crew of the project are yet to be finalised," says Sunil Kumar Reddy.

It may be recalled that veteran actor Krishna has acted and produced a biopic on Alluri titled Alluri Seetarama Raju (1974). Directed by V Ramachandra Rao, the historical drama was a runaway hit and fetched Srirangam Srinivasa Rao (Sri Sri) the National Film Award for Best Lyrics for Telugu veera levara song.
