Final season of Game of Thrones to premiere on April 14

It will be mixed emotions for Game of Thrones fans on April 14 as HBO announced that the last season of the epic fantasy show will begin on that day.

The teaser of the final season was released, and has taken social media by storm. The teaser features the underground crypt of Winterfell, with Sansa Stark, Arya Stark and Jon Snow facing their own statues as a frost approaches through the tunnels.

While the last season is said to consist of six episodes, it might not be the last we see of the Game of Thrones universe.

HBO, the producers of the show, have already begun development on multiple projects set in the GOT universe. They have roped in Jane Goldman to write one of the spinoff pilots, which is said to take place thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones.
