Priyanka Chopra's The Sky Is Pink to be released on October 1

Shonali Bose's The Sky Is Pink will hit theatres on October 11, the makers announced on Thursday. The inspirational drama stars Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, and Zaira Wasim.

The film is based on the life of motivational speaker Aisha Chaudhary, who developed Pulmonary Fibrosis at an early age due to an immune deficiency disorder. Compelled to quit school due to her health concerns, Aisha started delivering motivational speeches and published her book, My Little Epiphanies, in 2015. She passed away aged 18, the same day her book was launched at the Jaipur Literary Festival.

Shonali Bose's directorial credits include Amu and Margarita with a Straw. The Sky Is Pink marks Priyanka Chopra's return to Hindi cinema after her Hollywood stint. The film is produced by RSVP Movies and Roy Kapur Films.
