Following Ajay Devgn’s decision to not release Total Dhamaal in Pakistan in the aftermath of the Pulwama terror attack, Bollywood producer Dinesh Vijan has resolved to not release any of his upcoming projects in that country. 

A statement from Maddock Films read, “On Thursday, over 40 CRPF soldiers were martyred on the Jammu-Srinagar highway. Terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed has claimed responsibility for the attack although the government of Pakistan has refused to accept any involvement in the ghastly act. Keeping these factors in consideration, Dinesh Vijan has cancelled contracts for his upcoming release Luka Chuppi, as well as films like Arjun Patiala and Made in China, with Pakistani distributors.” 

On Monday, four days after the attack, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) announced a blanket ban on Pakistani actors and artists working in the Indian film industry. Several members of the Bollywood film fraternity have condemned the terror attack, with veterans Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar cancelling a visit to a literary event in Karachi. Music Label T-Series, headed by producer Bhushan Kumar, has also unlisted songs of Pakistani singers from their digital platforms.
