Jason Momoa joins Dune reboot?

CE Features

Jason Momoa, titular star of last year's blockbuster Aquaman, is in negotiations to join the star-studded cast of Dune reboot. Momoa is expected to portray Duncan Idaho, a swordmaster in the house of Atreides who is the right-hand man to Chalamet's father, who is played by Oscar Isaac.

If he is roped in, he would join a veritable star cast that includes Timothee Chalamet, Javier Bardem, Rebecca Ferguson, Stellan Skarsgard, Dave Bautista, Josh Brolin and Zendaya.

Set in the distant future, Dune follows Paul Atreides, whose family assumes control of the desert planet Arrakis. As the only producer of a highly valuable resource, jurisdiction over Arrakis is contested among competing noble families and in due course, Atreides is betrayed. The film then details his journey as he leads a rebellion to restore his family's reign.

Chalamet plays the role of Atreides in this film which is directed by Denis Villeneuve, who is also co-writing the script alongside Eric Roth and Jon Spaihts.
