AR Murugadoss to enter Marvel Cinematic Universe

CE Features

Filmmaker AR Murugadoss has been roped in to pen the Tamil dialogues for the dubbed version of Marvel Studio's Avengers: Endgame, the direct sequel to 2018's Avengers: Infinity War, and the 22nd film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), in an endeavour to present the film to fans, replete with local flavour.

Murugadoss, happy to lend his vision to the much-anticipated film, said in a statement, "I have always admired the story, spectacle, and scale that Marvel brings to its movies, and Avengers: Endgame is going to be one such powerhouse of a film that has the whole country excited."

"As a writer and a filmmaker and now a fan, thanks to my son Aaditya, I am thrilled to be a part of this phenomenon which brings together a galaxy of powerful characters like Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and more."

The filmmaker further added that he has tried to make the Anthony and Joe Russo's directorial, starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson, more accessible to the Tamil speaking audience without compromising on the original thought.

As the dubbed regional language versions of Marvel films routinely outpace those of their original English edition counterparts in terms of collections, Avengers: Endgame will also get a grand release in India in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, in addition to English. However, Disney India, reportedly, is yet to find writers for the Hindi and Telugu versions of Endgame, which is out April 26, 2019, worldwide.
