Trisha and Simran, who were part of the recently released Petta, which saw them both share screen space for the first time with Rajinikanth, will soon be playing the leads in an action adventure film. Sumanth Radhakrishnan, who helmed the 2016 thriller, Sadhuram 2, will be directing this yet-to-be-titled project. The film is touted to feature India's first deep-sea stunt sequences, and both the actors are currently undergoing training for these scenes. Set to go on floors in March, this untitled film will be shot in Chennai, Pichavaram, Kerala, and Thailand.

While Trisha isn't new to female-centric films, having worked on films such as Nayagi, Mohini, and the yet-to-be-released Garjanai and Paramapadham Vilayattu, Simran, too, has to her credit the 2003 film, Kovilpatti Veeralakshmi.

Interestingly, Trisha's first on-screen appearance was an uncredited role in the Simran-starrer Jodi

Simran's upcoming films include Dhruva Natchathiram, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect and Vanangamudi, whereas Trisha has Sathuranga Vettai 2 in the pipeline.
