Navein Darshan

Small Screen (Chinna Thirai) Directors union will be going on a one-day hunger strike requesting standardized remuneration for small screen assistant directors.

Briefing about the requests Secretary C Ranganathan says, "All the people working in the small screen units have a fixed salary, except the assistant directors. We've been trying to change this scenario for many years by raising a complaint to the producers. Despite our constant approach, they haven't heeded to our request. We believe this hunger strike will help us gain the attention of the producers and jointly come up with a standardized salary scale for the assistant directors."

Headed by Thalapathy, the President of Small Screen Directors Union, the protest will be held at Governor Guest House, Thiruvallikeni,  from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow. Veteran filmmaker-screenwriter K Bhagyaraj will join the union members to start the protest in the morning.
