There's a new wave in Kannada cinema, and filmmakers ready to experiment are coming out with films with bold themes and titles. One such film is Virgin, which will star Krishna in the lead. The actor, who is making his directorial debut with Love Mocktail, has simultaneously taken up this project -- a romantic comedy that begins with a girl asking a boy 'Are you a Virgin?'

Virgin marks the directorial debut of Puri Jagannadh's associate, Naidu B, who has also written the script. Produced by Swarnalatha D and Laxman Reddy, the film will also star Ahalya Suresh of Adi Purana-fame in the lead.

With an unconventional script that is credited with getting Krishna to agree to be a part of the film, Virgin will go on floors on Thursday. The team will begin with shooting episodes of the characters' childhood days. Krishna will be joining the sets in March, after he completes shooting the remaining portions of his debut directorial project as well as his CCL commitment. During this time, the actor plans to change his hairstyle before he joins the sets to better suit the story.

Virgin will have music scored by Manikanth Kadri, while editing and cinematography will be handled by Shri of Crazymindz and Navin Sakshi, respectively.
