Anupam Kher's medical series, New Amsterdam, renewed for second season

Anupam Kher's ongoing American medical series, New Amsterdam, has been renewed for a second season. Loosely based on Eric Manheimer’s book, Twelve Patients: Life and Death at Bellevue Hospital, the show stars Ryan Eggold as a charismatic doctor ushering in reformative changes at one of United States' oldest public hospitals.

The pilot episode of the show was aired on September 25, 2018. The first season of New Amsterdam has run for 12 episodes so far.

Anupam Kher, who plays the role of Dr Vijay Kapoor, an Indian-origin neurologist and a senior physician at the New Amsterdam hospital, confirmed the news about the second season on Twitter.
