We had previously reported that Vikram is teaming up with director Ajay Gnanamuthu, of Imaikka Nodigal fame, for a thriller. It has now been revealed that the film is titled Cobra. The announcement was made today on social media. 

Cobra, which is believed to feature Vikram in multiple roles, has KGF-actor Srinidhi Shetty playing the female lead. The film will mark the Tamil debut of cricketer Irfan Pathan. Cobra also stars director KS Ravikumar who is sharing screen space with Vikram after the 2009 film, Arul.

With music by AR Rahman and cinematography by Sivakumar Vijayan, Cobra is produced by Lalit Kumar of Seven Screen Studio. 

Meanwhile, Vikram has Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan adaptation, and Gautham Menon’s long-delayed Dhruva Natchathiram, in different stages of production.
