Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan adaptation has gone on floors in Thailand and the makers recently revealed the cast and crew of the ambitious project. This official list, however, did not mention the lyricist of the film.

Earlier, it was said that Vairamuthu was penning the lyrics for the upcoming film. Meanwhile, new reports claim that the lyricist is no longer part of Ponniyin Selvan due to the multiple #MeToo allegations against him.

Now, a source in the know tells us that Vairamuthu and Madan Karky have penned 12 songs and AR Rahman has already started to work on these songs.

Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai, Kishore, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Trisha are all part of the period film, which is based on the epic novel of Tamil writer Amarar Kalki.
